BLOGIF (2014)

Blogifs are short -sometimes interactive- visual reports on international topics. The topics may vary from war to other pressing social issues. Although a blog originally was only about the content of the webpage, lots of blogs tend to focus on the visual representation of that very same content these days.

With the Blogifs I try to show the next level of blogs. The blogs contain (animated) GIFs and looping audio files. The GIFs represent our contemporary image culture. GIFs in general are superficial, the combination of several GIFs however tells an in-depth story which you would normally read on blogs. In our contemporary society we are continuously fed with imagery. This effects how we see and what we think about imagery.
